Improving Provider Connections on the Web
In continued efforts to keep you connected, we are making it easier for you to access the information you need on the Devon Health website, www.devonhealth.com/providers.
Some minor changes will make it simple for you to update contact information, have instant access to credentialing information, and add/remove locations to your profile.
A major initiative is the production of a virtual orientation process to help you get acclimated to the Devon Health network quicker. This process will walk you through everything that you need to know as a provider in the Devon Health network. You will also be able to download the Provider Manual and other forms and request
a sample fee schedule and client lists. More information on this is coming soon.
We also will be updating the FAQ section of our website. We know your time is valuable and want to provide answers to your questions as quickly as possible. Visit the provider faqs to find the answers you need, reduce phone time, and free up time for what’s important: caring for your patients.
What to Watch For: Devon Health will also be creating a secure section of the website to allow you to check your credentialing status online. Look for information on this in the coming months.
We want our website to be a valuable tool for you, but sometimes you need a live person there and able to help. You can always contact our Provider Relations Department at 866.498.4773 for assistance.
If you have anything in particular that you would like to see on the website, please feel free to submit ideas
to Nicholas Leh, AVP, Provider Relations at 800.431.CARE ext. 4133 or nleh@devonhealth.com.
Our website is your resource, and we are looking to make it function better for you in any way we can!

Devon Health Adopts The National Committee On Quality Assurance (NCQA) Credentialing Standards
As the highest standard of credentialing and re-credentialing, NCQA is quickly becoming the industry standard. Major payers have begun to adopt NCQA standards while others have even opted to become NCQA accredited.
In our continued efforts to ensure the quality of our network, Devon Health has subscribed to the credentialing guidelines and standards of NCQA. Criterion that was typically applied under the traditional PPO credentialing process is
no longer applicable under NCQA standards.
For those practices who can meet the NCQA standards, sub delegation status will be granted.
For any medical practices who are unable to meet the NCQA standards, Devon Health will assume direct credentialing oversight and responsibility.
If you are currently participating in a delegated credentialing agreement, we will be contacting you about the updated requirements for sub delegation. You will be given information on what is needed to keep your group current.
If you have any questions regarding your credentialing and NCQA requirements, please feel free to contact Nicholas Leh, AVP, provider relations, at 800.431.CARE ext. 4133 or nleh@devonhealth.com, or Christy Cozzi, supervisor of data management, at 800.431.CARE ext. 4182 or ccozzi@devonhealth.com.

Credentials Committee Launches Effort to Address Quality Initiatives
The Credentials Committee has started a forward push to examine how quality initiatives can be incorporated into our network activities. Quality of care for patients is a top priority for Devon Health, and a major focus is to ensure that organizations who access our network know that they are getting the “best in class” in healthcare.
The Medicare PQRI Quality & Outcomes Program is considered a frontrunner due largely in part to its high rate of participation among physicians. As such the Credentials Committee is considering using this already established and highly used program as an initial means to assess quality. Providers who participate in the PQRI would be noted in the Devon Health Network Directory so that clients and members would know those providers who are meeting and adhering to these standards.
The Credentials Committee plans on moving forward on quality initiatives in incremental steps. As a provider, you will be updated as efforts in this arena continue.

Devon Health, Doctor’s Advocate Celebrate 4th Anniversary of Partnership
Doctor’s Advocate, a physician-owned organization offering prepaid legal services to combat frivolous lawsuits, celebrated its fourth birthday on August 1. Devon Health has been a strong partner and supporter of Doctor’s Advocate since its inception.
Doctor's Advocate is immediately ready to fight for subscribing healthcare professionals who are sued. Upon being notified of a lawsuit and reviewing the case, Doctor's Advocate’s legal team assists the malpractice insurance provider by providing expert medical chart review to detect frivolous cases. Doctor’s Advocate also encourages the litigating patient to drop the case and to engage in open communication with the physician.
Upon contacting Doctor's Advocate, members who are sued are immediately appointed an aggressive private counsel who also:
- Pressures the plaintiff's attorney to drop the case under the threat of a countersuit, if warranted
- Creates a paper trail that notes all correspondence with the plaintiff's attorney, building evidence for a countersuit if the case is deemed frivolous
- Communicates extensively with the doctor from the date of engagement to the date when the lawsuit is terminated
Please contact Darren Behuniak, Director of Marketing & Communications, at dbehuniak@devonhealth.com or 610.755.4958 if you are interested in receiving more information about Doctor’s Advocate.
